Program Overview

We emphasize ethics, excellence and humanity while training residents to become good ophthalmologists. Our students are trained to manage patients in wide variety of ophthalmological diseases. A good hands on training in cataract surgery is the hallmark of our training program. Throughout the residency period they will be guided on their thesis projects.

Each resident will get to do around 1500 surgeries during their course period. Our residents are also trained in sub specialities according to their thesis topic. This will encourage them to do fellowship in that speciality and improve their skill. We have fully equipped library with latest books and journals. Regular academic classes and journal club are conducted in a systematic manner. Residents regularly participate in CME programs as well as conferences of TNOA and AIOS.

Our branch at Karur offers excellent training for the young residents. This gives them more surgical exposure and confidence in seeing outpatients before starting practice individually.
