Established in 1997 in Erode, Arasan Eye Hospital started as a modest venture with a mission to serve all society segments. It conducts weekly free eye camps for rural communities, offers fellowship training for doctors, and provides comprehensive eye care, specializing in cataract, glaucoma, retina, pediatric ophthalmology, orbit, and oculoplastic. The hospital also offers 24/7 emergency services for ocular trauma and is recognized for cataract surgery training, benefiting over 600 doctors globally. The Save Sight Foundation, a charitable wing, and the Arasan Eye Bank were established in 2000 and 2001, respectively. The hospital holds accreditation from Bharathiar University for its Nursing school and from the National Board of Examinations for DNB (Ophthalmology). Founded by Dr. V Panneer Selvam, inspired by Dr. G. Venkataswamy of Aravind Eye Hospital, Arasan Eye Hospital has become a renowned institution under Dr. VPS's compassion and commitment.
