Since its establishment in 2001, Arasan Eye Bank has greatly increased the collection of transplantable donor corneas and enhanced eye bank performance standards. It has contributed significantly to the effective networking and proliferation of eye banks through promotion of community eye banking programs.
SSF is a non-profit organization which conducts all community and training programs. It was founded in 1999 as a non-profit organization and is registered under India Trust Act as a 12A foundation under the Income Tax Act.
We endeavour to provide the best in class services in eye banking, including:
- Recovery, evaluation and preservation of donor tissues.
- Distribution of tissues for corneal transplantation.
- Research in cornea preservation and decontamination techniques.
- Public awareness programs.
