It is a group of eye disorders that cause damage to the optic nerve that carries information from Eye to brain due to high Introcular pressure. It is a second most common cause of blindness affecting 60 million people globally. In India it affects 11 million people of which 1.5 million people are blind.

It is more common among the patients with the high myopia , Diabetes,Family history of glaucoma, high blood pressure and use of steroids.

Though there is no cure for the condition we provide best care to screen at a early stage ,which can preserve remaining visions and enable patients to live a productive life. Life long monitoring of glaucoma is essential ,the frequency of follow up visits depends on individual case.

We are equipped with Non Contacts Tonometry machine, Pachymetry, Optic Disc Photography to record the advancements of disease and ND-Yag Laser. Latest Investigations like the OCT and Humphrey’s perimeter are also available. We perform around 50 Trabaculectomy procedures for uncontrolled high intraocular pressure. Our clinic also serves as a large referrel center for the treatment of congential glaucoma,a rare condition with increased eye pressure and corneal enlargement occurring in the first few months of birth.
